Jeannie Baron, CD/BDT(DONA), HBCE, Dip CBEd(CBI), Certified BRM® Pro
Jeannie Baron is an active birth doula and childbirth educator with an endless love for growing families. She has been a DONA certified Birth Doula since 2005, and a Childbirth Educator since 2010.
During the fall of 2014, Jeannie began the process of becoming a DONA Approved Birth Doula Trainer. The process included training under some of the nation’s top doulas and mentors including working closely with DONA International founder Penny Simkin. The trainer-training process was an exceptional experience and an opportunity for Jeannie to put her birth doula skills and educational/mentoring skills together. She now holds workshops in Canada and the US.
Jeannie has had the honor of attending over 400 births in homes, birth centres, and hospitals as a certified birth doula. She loves empowering women as mothers, and birth workers as doulas! She believes in the process of birth and encourages women to trust their inner strength. She believes that there is no “right” way to birth and that each woman has their own individual needs during the childbearing years. She feels privileged to be invited in to witness one of life’s most miraculous moments.
Besides her passion in supporting birthing families, Jeannie is also passionate about teaching new doulas. She works hard to make her workshops not only interesting and educational, but fun as well! (plus she bakes all kinds of treats!)
Jeannie lives in Minneapolis with her husband Wade, and enjoys being teased about her “Canadian-isms” such as saying “eh”. Her two children are grown and living in Toronto, Ontario.
